About
I’m originally from Houston, Texas, and am currently completing my studies at Iowa State University. As I look forward to job opportunities in Austin, Texas, I bring with me a strong passion for volunteer work, having dedicated the past year to working with the organization Growing the Grassroots, a non-profit based out of Sierra Leone. This experience has deepened my commitment to community engagement and sustainable development.
In addition to my academic and volunteer pursuits, I have a keen interest in architectural photography. I am eager to explore how this medium can capture the essence of architectural design and contribute to the visual storytelling of built environments.
Currently, I’m completing my fifth year in Architecture at Iowa State University, where I have established a solid foundation in the use of design software and have developed a passion for innovative and sustainable building design. I believe my education, energy and desire to learn would add value to a professional team.
Over the last three summers, I have had internships at Kendig-Keast Collaborative, a national urban planning and design firm, and EncodePlus, a web-based software for hosting zoning subdivision and codes of ordinances. This experience helped me hone my skills in creating three-dimensional sites and building models using SketchUp, Rhino, Autodesk CAD and Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. I learned how to analyze and apply zoning standards in various contexts. Specifically, I built models to visualize floor area rations (FARs) in different character contexts – rural, suburban, semi-urban and urban. This work helped me learn how to translate complex regulations into clear and visually appealing presentations.
